Frank Miller’s “Robocop: Last Stand” Coming from Boom
Boom Studios is now taking pre-orders for Robocop: Last Stand, the comic adaptation of the Frank Miller Robocop 3 screenplay that was unused. This new comic marks than change as Robocop leaves Dynamite Comics and moves to Boom, and as an adaptation of Frank Miller’s work it should work well as a completely stand-alone story. I guess we’ll find out in August when the first issue ships.
The police force has disbanded. The people of Detroit have been evicted from their homes. ED-209’s and OCP officers run the streets. With OCP’s vision for Delta City well underway, Robocop may be his city’s last hope. This is Robocop’s last stand, as it was always intended to be.
I was massively disappointed by “Frank Miller’s RoboCop” tpb from a few years back. It made me realize how bad RB2 would have been if they hadn’t chopped up his script. I can’t say I’m interested in this. Robo doesn’t seem to do too well in comics those days, but I haven’t read the most recent Dynamite series, so what do I know?
@3B – I haven’t read the Dynamite comics, but the reviews make them sound like they’re at least fun reads.
