Funko’s Pop! Vinyl at Toy Tokyo

By now I’m sure that you have all seen my BlackBerry snaps from the Toy Tokyo Futuretro show last night (pics here). I took over 40 other pics before the show started during setup, but those will have to be posted tonight after I get a chance to stop running from event to event. Now I’m off to meet Matt and Marc (Onell Design) for breakfast and then it’s to the convention center to get the booth ready. After that? The Hasbro Fan Media event!

One of the things I did at Toy Tokyo last night was spot this wall of Funko Pop! Vinyl toys. Individually this toy series has left me interested-but-not-excited, but as a group they look fantastic. If I hadn’t bought myself more Toygraph Space Troopers (“space trooper” search at battlegrip.com) and another Screaming Pumpkin vinyl toy (first review here, second review here) then I would have likely snagged a dozen or more of these Pop! Vinyl toys at once. But since the Pop! Vinyl toys are a lot easier for me to locate than Space Troopers or Screaming Pumpkins I think I made the right choice.

Damn, the Screaming Pumpkin design is awesome. I wish more of these were being made today. Maybe I just need to track down the owner of the toy design and molds and make an offer . . .
