G.I. Joe and Reagan in 1983
By late in 1983 Hasbro’s G.I. Joe action figures were performing so well that some adults had to try and bring the line down a peg or two. For example, this article from the November 24, 1983 issue of Spokane, Washington’s The Spokesman-Review really wants to throw both sexism and violence at parents. Why, people? Can’t we just let kids be kids and enjoy toys?
