G.I. Joe: Total Retaliation Guide is Wonderful
Earlier this month I encountered and ordered a fan-crafted guide to Hasbro’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation series*. I’m very much a fan of books (as proven by my own publishing efforts) and I’ll happily support the work of others when I have the opportunity and extra cash.
Yesterday after work I found the Total Retaliation book waiting for me and was immediately happy with the purchase. As the sample pages at Etsy suggested this is an attractive book, and holding the finished work in my hands makes the $35 or so that I spent very well worth the cost.
The landscape presentation is attractive, the photography and layout quite professional, and everything about the book is well-crafted and it’s a fun read. I’ve spent the last twenty minutes or so flipping through it and enjoying the work. This one’s highly recommended for toy collectors and G.I. Joe fans.

It’s a great book. I really enjoyed it. I hope they get the chance to do another line. They had been asked about doing a Pursuit of Cobra one, but said the figures are a bit too pricey for them and being based in Ireland made it difficult to get them. I’d imagine a book like that could get funded on Kickstarterto enable them. When I was thinking of that I had your projects in mind, was kind of thinking I’d suggest they reach out to you for some pointers. But if and how they approach another book is totally up to them naturally.
@Derek Bracken – I’d be happy to chat with them. And yeah, they need to produce another book. This one is wonderful! I am very impressed with the work they put into the book.
Definitely one I will be reviewing in the future.
