G.I. Joe’s 25th Anniversary in Tomart’s Action Figure Digest
Can you believe that only seven years ago Hasbro’s G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary* was still performing well enough at retail to secure support across the major outlets? Today’s dramatically different with G.I. Joe effectively dead in stores, but this 2008 spread from Tomart’s Action Figure Digest is here to remind us of better days for the G.I. Joe brand.
At this point I hope that Hasbro lets the brand rest for a few years and then launch a big push for the 35th anniversary in 2017. OR, better still, let the entire line take a break until 2022 for the 40th anniversary. I believe that a little time away from the eyes of the mass market buyers will do G.I. Joe some good. It has a rich history, and time sometimes does heal all wounds*.
