Gabriel’s Pop-O-Matic Games

Well, I know what my next task has to be. This 1980 newspaper ad caught my attention with the Gabriel Toys series of Pop-O-Matic games, leading me to ask: Who owns the old Gabriel brands? Which eventually led me to Wikipedia. There, shockingly, I learned that Gabriel was sold to View-Master . . . and that is where things get weird. How did the View-Master properties split, and when did the Trouble board game* find its way to Hasbro? I sense another trip to the Strong Museum in my future . . .
