Gentle Giant Mini-Busts Processing and Shipping
Great news in my e-mail from Gentle Giant (website, Twitter): the 2-1B mini-bust that I ordered has shipped and the Hammerhead mini-bust is processing and will ship next week. So that’s two new mini-busts that may reach me before the long Memorial Day weekend . . . which means that I’ll have to do the right thing and review both of these as soon as they arrive because I may just have enough time to properly study each one.
Hammerhead Mini-Bust
This will go beautifully with the older Gentle Giant Hammerhead mini-bust (review here) and the Sideshow 12-inch scale Hammerhead action figure (review here) in my collection. The photos online make it look significantly better than the older mini-bust; I just hope that this is as cool in person as it looks online.
This mini-bust is also available for pre-order* at Entertainment Earth.
2-1B Droid Mini-Bust
Lights? Awesome! I love that this is limited to 1,980 pieces — cute, guys — and the Jedi Temple review makes me think I made a great choice going for one of these mini-busts.
The tubing from his mouth pieces to the chest is a detail that we have instantly fell in love with because every detail of it is exactly the same as on the real-life prop in the film. Even the gears in his arms are so believable you’ll expect them to move. You’ll need to compare it side by side to appreciate the exactness of Gentle Giant’s interpretation here. Simply put, this is one of the best pieces Gentle Giant, Ltd. has ever produced.
