Gentle Giant’s First G.I. Joe Retro Jumbo Action Figure Open for Pre-Order
It has started!!! Taking the same approach they’ve been using for the Star Wars Jumbo Vintage series (Amazon.com search*), Gentle Giant is now accepting pre-orders for the first in their similar series of classic G.I. Joe action figures. Check the brand page at Gentle Giant and get ready for Rock ‘N Roll . . . even though he’s not set for release until third quarter next year.

Wonder how their non-snake eyses sales will go, especially using the initial run styles for the figures.
Aside from Snake and Stalker, i doubt there will be much differance to the other figures.
@Court – Weren’t all of the very first wave of the figures basically identical tooling for the bodies? (Even the original Snake-Eyes is just the basic figure in black.) That should make this entire experiment a lot cheaper to pull off than the Star Wars jumbo figures.
That should allow them to have much lower minimums on the line. But I guess we’ll know for sure in about a year . . .
Would love a Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander…but space considerations make it unlikely.
Yeah, this will be an interesting experiment for GG. Joe fans are notoriously stingy with their money, and the strategy of releasing these ‘in order’ doesn’t make as much sense as Star Wars. I can see people dabbling in the ‘big hitters’ like Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, etc, but the size and cost of these means being a completist is going to be really hard.
