Glyos System Block Wing
The Glyos System vinyl Block is coming next week, and you can see lots of Blocks in action at the Glyos Transmission Web Log. As I mentioned yesterday I’m gonna want a lot of Blocks, and I think the photos posted at the Glyos Transmission Web Log clearly show why having more if better when it comes to this new building toy.
But there’s more that you can do with Blocks than just stack them. Remember how I discussed cutting into the pre-marked holes in order to add parts to the toy? Well, to demonstrate what can be done take a look at this digital illustration of a Block that has been customized with the addition of Rig Wings (first mentioned here). As you can see, once you start taking the Block past the stacking phase the options really start to grow.

O_O WHOA. Now that’s cool! Almost like a little mini-rig, whoa-ho Mr Doughty clever clever! Star Wars mini-rigs….Rigs…Blocks as little rigs. It all connects! 😀
I got a chance to play with these too during my visit, really kick-ass stuff & it’s hard to explain why but the design, paint applications & over-all vibe to it just…work. They actually remind me alot of the Japanese Blockman toyline too, just love that orange/gray/black colorway; pure gold.
So how do you connect the two blocks themselves?
@Talyn – The two pieces are connected with the larger vinyl joint used in the Armodoc and Rig. This was revealed in the interview at Plastic & Plush: http://plasticandplush.com/2012/01/twenty-questions-matt-doughty-onell-design.html
“It is literally a 2-part block, joined by the larger connector found in the torso of the Rig and Armodoc. It can swivel, come apart and can hold a figure inside.”
Gahh, those bright orange Sincroids and Axis joints are calling my name…
@Black Zarak – And I think there are more reveals coming.
