Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Action Figures and Vehicles on Sale in 1983
Here’s one of the better G.I. Joe newspaper ads yet! From December 11, 1983 and the Times Daily, this ad shows off the Wolverine, HISS, VAMP, RAM, and more! The Wolverine was really one of the smaller vehicles? I have always thought of it as a larger G.I. Joe missile tank, but seeing the price here — less than $7 on sale! — has me now rethinking how I classify that toy relative to the other G.I. Joe vehicles of the eighties.

WOW! A Sunday paper in the Google archive?!?! It must be an oversight on their part! I’m sure they’d pull it if they knew it was up!
Absolutely beautiful scan of that TG&Y page. Oh how I wish those carded Joes didn’t get the Google greyscale washout treatment! I wonder why they do that?
Anyways this was a great find. I’d given up on seeing Sunday papers in Google’s archive. I grew up in a TG&Y town and from my own searches of their ads I sure wish I would have kept the circulars. They were really big on Transformers in 1985 and had some absolutely beautiful ads.
