Hasbro’s Transformers at Meijer in 1984
October 8, 1984. What I find most interesting about this Meijer store ad from the Marion, Ohio, Marion Star newspaper is the statement “While at Least 2000 Last Chainwide.” Is that 2,000 units of each assortment, or did Meijer purchase a total of 2,000 different Transformers toys from Hasbro in 1984? I would love to get my hands on some old sales records to get a feel for exactly how many units of these toys Hasbro was selling back when they were new.
