Hong Kong Calling
Gina and I arrived in Hong Kong last night and after checking into our hotel we went for a short walk to unwind after the long, uncomfortable flight. We’re staying in a different part of the city than I was in last year so all of the good bakeries and toy shops I knew about are far, far away. Which means that today (it’s almost 5 am here in Hong Kong) will be a day of discoveries as we determine what’s in the neighborhood.
The one really nice change over last year’s hotel is that this one is right on top of the MTR station. Seriously, it’s less than about 100 feet to the station so even if it rains while we’re here we’ll be able to explore tons of the city without getting wet.
So what’s everyone think, will we hit the Hot Toys shop today or did I drool enough in the shop last year to last me a lifetime?
Does the city looks as much like Blade Runner as it does in pictures? Or maybe more like GitS Stand Alone Complex’s tokyo?
@Seth L – At night it looks totally like Blade Runner. It’s very cool.
