“Hot Wheels celebrating a billion cars on the road”
According to hotwheelsmedia.com the company has sold more than four billion Hot Wheels toy cars (Amazon.com search*) since the line launched in 1968, but if we go back to this Spokane Chronicle article from 1991 we find Mattel celebrating one billion sales. That means the company’s sales of Hot Wheels cars tripled in the two decades following their first billion sales.
That’s a hell of a lot of die cast!
