I Never Knew There was a “M.U.S.C.L.E. Mega-Match Game”

I accidentally stumbled across the BoardGameGeek page for The M.U.S.C.L.E. Mega-Match Game and now it has me wondering how tough it would be to actually find a copy of the game. I don’t expect it to be a good game — that would be an amazing feat — but I do expect that it’s very goofy and would make an excellent oddity in my collection of bad games from the eighties.

Visit BoardGameGeek!

What’s especially odd is that a few searches at The U of M.U.S.C.L.E. (blog, Twitter) failed to turn up any details on the game. Is it a rare and special game, or is it so horrible that even M.U.S.C.L.E. fans don’t want to think of the game’s existence?

  1. You can actually get a look at the rules on the BGG site. I read them, and they’re real simple and straightforward with no special exceptions or unique abilites for certain figures. Not bad for a kid’s game, but probably not engaging enough for adults beyond a few plays. It’s the kind of game that makes me think of those old games we had as kids that lead to adding to the rules and tweaking them to the point that we eventually sought out other more sophisticated games, creating wargamers and roleplayers. Seems like a nice novelty though if you could find a set complete.
