In Seattle with the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger
A combination business/fun dinner last night didn’t go off exactly as planned. Steve and I were supposed to meet at a restaurant near Pioneer Square, but the place turned out to be closed (and looked abandoned). So we improvised, and soon found ourselves at McCoy’s Firehouse Bar & Grill (website), which was suggested by a local . . . and definitely one of those “go again” places.
Looking at the menu I was immediately drawn to “Pat’s Peanut Butter Bacon Burger.” Peanut butter bacon burger? Huh? Okay, I had to try that. And man was it awesome. The peanut butter made for a messy as all hell burger, but it tasted great! This burger put the ones that the Onell Design crew forced down my throat last year (as I wrote about at the Steve Jackson Games site) in terms of sheer messiness and even in the taste department. Matt and Jesse, if we’re ever in Seattle at the same time you guys are eating this burger!
An excellent way to start the Seattle visit.
Just wait until the folks at Gordough’s get wind of that.
There are actually numerous places in Seattle for the always delicious PB & Bacon burger. I haven’t tried McCoy’s. Will do when I get back to Seattle.
Also, Scotty’s Brewhouse, 2nd home of Gen Con attendees, has a PB/Bacon burger on their menu. 🙂
There’s a place here in Santa Cruz that makes a PB/Bacon burger – it’s called the Skippy, and it is DELICIOUS!
