Iron Man 2 Action Figures at the Grocery Store
Now this was an unexpected find. A relatively large grocery store chain here in Texas, HEB, has proven to be a good place to find slightly tough to get toys but I never expected to see these three releases in the Iron Man 2 action figure series.
I grabbed the Ultimate Iron Man and the War Machine with interchangeable heads put passed on that armored Whiplash. And I have the Ultimate Iron Man open and owe you guys a review; it’s a lot nicer than I had expected.
listen to me very carefully: BUY ONE OF EVERY DAMNED ONE OF THOSE FOR YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY!! 😀
I always wonder how these ridiculous off the beaten path places get the best figures from certain toylines. I find variants/rarities at Rite-Aid all the time. What gives?
@SDTB – Nah, I’d rather leave the duplicates for the next person who visits the store. I’ll probably be back there tomorrow so I will take a look and see if someone else has found them.
@BubbaShelby – I assume it’s because places like this have a smaller number on pegs than places like Wal-Mart and Target. And probably a smaller stock in their warehouses so they reorder more often which means Hasbro ships newer waves while Wal-Mart and Target are still working through their own supplies of older cases.
I’ve been looking for that Whiplash forever but all my local stores have are countless Mark IV/V/VI Iron Man variants… Good catch!
I want that War Machine for my collection so much. D:
Dang Bro, Kobe collects Marvel 3 3/4″ figs. and I need to score him the War Machine and Whiplash for sure!
Nice find and thanks for sharin’ the photos.

I can tell you you can pass on that Whiplash. I may be alone in this, but I really wasn’t so impressed with him. A lot of his articulation is blocked by sculpt, but especially his elbows. They hardly bend at all. Ultimate IM is a great toy, though 🙂
@TheGodBeast – Shoot me an e-mail if you want the Whiplash and War Machine and I’ll check the store to see if they’re still on the pegs.
@Dkun – I’ll let you know if I see any more of them in Austin.
