Iron Man 3 “Iron Assemblers” Action Figures
A few days ago, USA Today ran “Channel your inner Tony Stark with new ‘Iron Man 3’ toys,” the world’s first look at Hasbro’s upcoming Iron Assemblers toys for the Iron Man 3 movie. Having named the Iron Man 2 action figures the Best Mass-Market Action Figure Line of 2010 in my 2010 Battlegrip.com Awards I’m sure we all knew I was looking forward to the toys for the new movie.
Yesterday, Hasbro sent out press pics and info on the new Iron Assemblers series. The gimmick this time around is pop-n-swap components that allows kids to reconfigure Iron Man action figures to create new designs. Cool concept, and according to the USA Today article these should be in stores next month. You can be sure I’ll review at least one figure in the series once I find them in stores.
(Approximate Retail Price: $9.99; Ages: 4 & up; Available: Spring 2013) In 2013, kids and fans can recreate the excitement of the IRON MAN 3 film with the buildable ASSEMBLERS action figure line. Each figure features an Interchangeable Armor System, allowing one figure to create more than 25 armor combinations and allowing armor to be switched out between the 16 available figures in the line to create 100’s more combinations. Each figure sold separately.

This level of articulation must be indicative of the times we live in, following on from the recent Batman offerings. I am very surprised though by the degree of the drop in articulation, even so far as to remove knee and elbow joints. While articulation does not make the toy of course. I image though that they will work well in a Hall of Armour settup. I’ll pick up one or two as I’ve no will power. The number of toys available from Iron Man 2 more than covers me if I miss the articulation too much.
These might be interesting to pick up once they go on sale. Nothing making me want to jump up and down.
