January, 1998 Look at Star Wars Action Figures in Wizard Magazine

Wizard magazine (Amazon.com search*) was once a bit of a big deal in geekdom. Comics, toys, films, games, Wizard tried to cover it all. Unfortunately, twenty years after the magazine launched it closed down when subscriptions dropped (see this CBR post).

These pages from the January, 1998 issue of the magazine showcase Kenner’s Power of the Force* toys of the time. My mind will forever link Star Wars of the nineties with Wizard because, way back then, this was pretty much the only magazine I flipped through regularly.

The internet is awesome and all, but there are days I really miss the magazines that have been replaced by daily updates at sites and blogs.
