“Joes on Television” from the 1987 G.I. Joe Yearbook
I shouldn’t be at all surprised that I found myself working professionally in the entertainment industry. As a kid, I used to love behind-the-scenes works, from movie “making of” features to stories about how things were created, and all of those years spent learning about the creation of my favorite things has helped me be the best I can at my career.
One such behind-the-scenes work I remember reading as a kid was “Joes on Television” from the 1987 G.I. Joe Yearbook. My personal time with G.I. Joe was at its peak during the fall of 1986, winter, and spring of 1987, and it was during that time that this comic book was published. A three-page feature on the G.I. Joe cartoon introduces all of the new characters and gives us a snapshot of the series at that time, and re-reading this today I’m not at all shocked that I read this over and over when I was a kid.
