July, 1997 Wizard Magazine Looks at Star Wars Action Figures

Today we’re going back to Wizard magazine and the nineties for another look at Kenner’s Star Wars: Power of the Force 2 action figure series (Amazon.com search*) of the time. Today’s scan shows off (then upcoming) Dengar, Zuckuss, Walrusman, and more! The only terrible thing about looking at all of these old action figures is that it kinda makes me wish I’d held onto those old toys; I’ve got a few of them left, but most were given away/sold over the last decade or so. People laugh at hoarders, but at least if you hoard you never feel a little regret for letting something go.

  1. I still have everything pictured there except the Luke and Han 12 inch pack. While the Vintage Collection figures blow the POTF2 out of the water, the POTF2 figures were still darn fine toys. I love their weaponry!

These guys all got released right before I went into 8th grade. I remember finding the Blockade Runner Trooper while my family visited old friends outside of Chicago. He’s a cool figure (everyone was so eager for that guy) but he’s definitely really tall and a bit awkward looking.
