Keith Giffen Interview from 1993

I’ve mentioned Keith Giffen’s work on Trencher (posted here) and Images of Shadowhawk (posted here) in the past, so I’m sure you’re not at all shocked that when I saw this 1993 issue of Inside Image over the weekend it just had to be mine. Just how awesome was the comic industry back then for companies to publish their own mini-catalogs/magazines on a monthly basis?

The above pic shows the cover, both in its color form and Giffen’s black & white lineart. That jumble of lines and shapes is astounding; just how much of a road map did Giffen leave for the coloring of this artwork? I’d love to run across whatever notes or color sketches may have been created to guide the colorist in taking these lines and creating that finished image.
