Kenner Collector Alert from 1996
The September, 1996 issue of Lee’s Action Figure News and Toy Review (Amazon.com search*) shares this full-page alert that Kenner’s Total Justice action figures would be reaching shelves soon. Well, soon almost twenty years ago. For us this page is a blast from the past and a very fun peek at superhero action figures from the nineties.
Just how many Total Justice action figures did Kenner even release before the line was closed down?

I think there were a couple of series — and then Hasbro did a JLA series a couple of years later. I loved the look of these guys when they were released, especially GL. Nowadays they look super-90s of course, but they’re a fun curio.
Horrible, extreme, pre-posed sculpts with woefully limited articulations, with hideous stringy muscles and awful facial expressions. One of the worst lines of action figures ever.
To be fair, that was a lot of stuff in the 90s and early noughties 🙂
McFarlane Toys cast a very long shadow, and most companies simply couldn’t do what his team could.
