Kenner Darth Vader TIE Fighter

Only $9.96 for the Darth Vader TIE Fighter in this 1980 newspaper advertisement, making this a pretty average price for the toy back when it was new. I paid a lot more than that in the last few years for one of these, and never had one as a kid, so maybe my judgment when it comes to “value” of a toy isn’t all that hot. Still, at least I can report that this toy is here in the house; Gina has a TIE Fighter collection and it felt empty without the classic Darth Vader TIE Fighter.
