We saw a 1979 newspaper advertisement for the X-Wing last week, so what this 1980 ad does for us is demonstrate the dramatic difference in price for the X-Wing toy across the U.S. back in 1979 and 1980. Inflation is a real thing, yes, but the price jump from the 1979 ad to this 1980 offering is spectacular. An extra five bucks . . . and that’s the sale price? Man, inflation was brutal back then.
