Kenner’s Star Wars Dip Dots and Poster Set in 1978
Some of Kenner’s first Star Wars products in the seventies were paper goods that could be manufactured quickly in the United States. The plastic action figures and vehicles wouldn’t reach stores for Christmas in 1977, but thanks to the demand for Star Wars toys for Christmas the company managed to sell a lot of art projects and puzzles.
For Christmas in 1978 there were toys, but still — as we see in this 1978 newspaper ad — the stores were selling poster sets, Dip Dots, puzzles, and other items that had been available the previous Christmas.
