Kenner’s Steve Scout Action Figure in Scouting Magazine
In 1974, Kenner launched the Steve Scout action figure line, a small collection of officially licensed scouting toys. Unfortunately, the line didn’t do all that well, with just one series reaching shelves. Still, both the Steve Scout catalog posted at Plaid Stallions and this September 1974 ad from Scouting magazine should be enough to get some of you searching the web for more info on this line. Kenner wasn’t afraid to take risks in the seventies — as proven by Steve Scout and the dog action figure — and not all risks pay off big.
