Kickstarter – Dungeons & Dragons: A Documentary
If you’re at all a fan of fantasy roleplaying games then you’ll want to take a look at the Dungeons & Dragons: A Documentary project at Kickstarter. This is intended as a look at where the game came from and the project page goes into quite a bit of detail on their plans for the film and, maybe, a book. I’m not sure if the book is happening regardless of if they hit the $500,000 stretch goal or not, but even after books like Thirty Years of Adventure* and 40 Years of Gen Con* I can admit that I’m ready for another book on the history of Dungeons and Dragons.
We love this game and the people that we’ve met while shooting it. They deserve our best efforts to create something really special. And you, our audience, also deserve something special, to know the story of D&D. A story that needs to be told so that people know how important Dungeons & Dragons has been in our culture. That’s why we’ve set out to create a definitive look at Dungeons & Dragons. And we need a lot of help.

Aside from maybe an over inflation of global cultural influence, i’m glad it seems the movie is in a real Gygax direction. To me thats the real story of DnD.
As this news is about kickstarter I don’t think I have seen here a post about the SolForge project. It is an online Trading Card Game that has a lot of potential or seems to have. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1965800643/solforge-digital-trading-card-game?ref=category
