Kickstarter – Horror Roleplaying in the Great Depression with “No Security”
Okay, I’ll have to admit that I’m a sucker for the US “Great Depression,” that time when everything went wrong . . . except that we managed to get Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath (Wikipedia) out of the deal so it wasn’t all bad. Those depressing times can make a great background for stories, so as soon as I spotted No Security: Horror Scenarios in the Great Depression on Kickstarter I just had to know more.
No Security: Horror Scenarios in the Great Depression is a PDF bundle of three adventures compatible with multiple pen-and-paper roleplaying systems. In addition to being exciting and terrifying, the No Security pack seeks to overcome shortcomings common in the horror RPG genre.
What’s nice about the project is that once it closes — the project is already over its goal — then everyone out there will benefit. The plan is to post a website with three free downloadable PDFs; backers of the project are basically buying a gift for everyone online. It’s unfortunate that there isn’t a printed book involved, but there are other rewards for backers so if this feels like your thing take a peek at the Kickstarter page.
