Kickstarter – Omegatech for iPad

One thing about buy an iPad is that all of those games I was ignoring are now something I can look at, and this morning on Kickstarter I spotted Omegatech, a mech combat game with roots in both digital and tabletop gaming. The artwork looks fantastic (see the official website), the game itself looks like it could be fun, and it turns out to be an Austin-based project. Okay, I’m in!

Welcome to the video game Omegatech, a top-down, arcade-style mech shooter slated to be released in early July 2012. Set in a world torn apart by civil war, Omegatech puts you in the role of a young soldier, the only person left on the ground who can save the planet. The game is designed to adapt to your style of play so that, as you progress through the levels, your mech and missions become specialized to you.
