Kickstarter – Pushing the Fighting Fantasy Documentary
The Turn to 400 project at Kickstarter is in the final 48 hours . . . and things are not looking good for this documentary dedicated to the Fighting Fantasy programmed game books. I’ll be sad if this doesn’t happen — a documentary about the industry I work in is always something I want to see succeed, if only because it helps everyone — but I’ll also be ready to jump in and back the project again if the producers revamp their plans and take a second shot.
We’re going to create a 60 minute documentary which details Steve and Ian’s background, the early days of Games Workshop and the decisions which they made. You’ll see a group of people dedicated to games, and see how the Fighting Fantasy phenomenon took off and how for many of the people involved it was something so much more than just another series of books. We’ll see what happened to the artists involved in FF, and how Steve and Ian themselves went on to do so much more in the same field.
