Kickstarter – Robot 13 Trade Paperback
I looked at Robot 13 way back in late 2009 (reading post here) and enjoyed the comic so much that I even went so far as to interview the designers (interview here). Seriously, this is a comic with great art and is quite fun to read . . . and now you can join this Kickstarter project to get the original Robot 13 story in trade paperback.
Robot 13 is the story a robot that is pulled up from the ocean by fishermen off the coast of Spain in 1939. This robot is our Hero, and goes on a journey to discover who he is and where he came from, and along the way he is confronted by a series of Monsters from Greek Mythology that he finds himself drawn to fight against. As the story unfolds, we find answers leading to even greater questions in the series that MTV Splash page called, “The Best Under-the-Radar Comic Series of 2009!†Since Blacklist Studios will be releasing the next story Arc of Robot 13 later this year, this Trade collection will be a great way to jump right into the story!
And toy fans may want to look closely at the backer levels that come with mini-toys. Cast in resin, these little toys look like they’ll be quite cute and should go nicely in any collection of M.U.S.C.L.E.-like toys.
But act fast, because the Kickstarter project ends a week from tomorrow.

This sounds pretty cool. I have the first 2 issues of R13, but I wasn’t sure if any others were ever released. The owner of my local CBS has tried a couple of times to get issue #3 for me, but said that he doesn’t think it was ever printed.
This makes it sound like several issues have been released at some point (maybe just digitally, I’m not sure). Good opportunity to get the full story. I can’t decide if I just want to give $13 to get my copy, or the $21 so I can give one to my comicbook-loving neighbors who live on the other side of my apartment building.
