Kim McQuaite on Warren in 1980
The Warren Companion*, a collection of interviews and articles on Warren Publishing, is one of those books I picked up a few years ago out of an interest in comics. It’s a great book and one I’m glad to have in my collection, but now I find myself in the Google newspaper archives trying to learn more about the company and finding that there are bits of the Warren story that didn’t make it into the book.
As one example of what’s online waiting to be discovered I offer this 1980 Reading Eagle newspaper article on Kim McQuaite. This is purely a puff piece for a local paper, but a peek at McQuaite’s hometown newspaper chattering on about his position as art director at Warren Publishing is too good to ignore. And, best of all, locating this article gives me hope that there are more Warren surprises waiting for us in those archives.
