“Lack Of Film Does In Star Wars Comic”
There have been a terrifying number of Star Wars comic books (Amazon.com search*) over the years, but if we stop and think about it there was a time three decades ago when Star Wars wasn’t hot and Marvel dropped the comic from their line.
From the July 10, 1986 Toledo Blade newspaper comes this short Chicago Tribune Service story in which the world is notified that Marvel’s Star Wars comic was placed on “haitus until the next (Star Wars) film is released.” Marvel waited a bit longer than that, but they did eventually add Star Wars back to their comic catalog.
