December 8, 1982. Donkey Kong. Candy Land. Pac-Man. This 1982 ad for the Best stores offers a peek at boardgame prices in the early eighties, even going so far as to show us America’s fascination with arcade games had leaked over into the world of physical games. It feels wrong that I don’t have the Donkey Kong and Pac-Man games shown in this newspaper ad.
