Marvel’s Secret Wars Action Figures in 1984

I wrote about Mattel’s series of Marvel Secret Wars action figures in my two books about toy marketing in the eighties — Each Sold Separately* and Action Figures Not Included* — but writing can only go so far and there are times you gotta see something to understand it.

Well, today I’m happy to show you a 1984 newspaper ad which features the Secret Wars action figures and the Tower of Doom playset. Truly, nothing is better than finding these classic ads to get an idea for what the toys really cost when they were new.
