Master’s of the Universe Collector’s Case and Galoob’s Blackstar Action Figures
There were so many cartoons in the eighties that it’s impossible to know them all. As a kid, the Blackstar cartoon (see Wikipedia escaped me, but as we can see in this 1984 newspaper ad the toys outlived the cartoon by a few years.
The real treat in this newspaper, though, has to be that carrying case for Masters of the Universe action figures. We may not see action figure carrying cases all that often today, but back when I was a kid these things were as common as dirt. And for good reason: They were inexpensive to produce and gave kids like me a way to carry our toys. Who wouldn’t want a sweet carrying case?
