Mattel’s M.U.S.C.L.E. Battle Belt on Sale in 1986

Yesterday’s Circus World advertisement also included Mattel’s M.U.S.C.L.E. toys, the most important of which is that wacky Battle Belt that I included in my book, Action Figure Carrying Cases*. Unfortunately, the belt uses gold plastic, and when I went to photograph the belt to include in the book that damned plastic snapped instantly, further proving that gold plastic syndrome is a legitimate concern to toy collectors.
