If you’re willing to poke around a bit, the Google newspaper archives can be a treasure trove of wonderful and informative articles. Fans of the classic Choose Your Own Adventure books (find at Amazon.com*), for example, can enjoy a quick interview with the creator of the series, Edward Packard, in this 1984 article. Kids at a Virginia school were given the chance to send Packard questions, and this brief article offers up a peek behind the scenes of the classic books.
I love, love, loved the CYOA books. I probably came across them in Kindergarten (1991) and was sold on the concept immediately. Though I prefer more Fighting Fantasy-style gamebooks these days (and rarely have the time for either), I’ll always speak fondly and enthusiastically of this series. Amazing fun!
@Wolf – Surprisingly, this style of book seems to be making a comeback. I’ve noticed more of them being released over the last year or two.
