Mekton Mecha Manual Volume 1
It’s time to go all of the way back to 1994 and another issue of Mecha Press, this time for a snapshot of R. Talsorian’s Mekton roleplaying game (find at Amazon.com*) as it appeared two decades ago. This short announcement reveals the Mekton Mecha Manual Volume 1 to the world, a Mekton Zeta supplement that was produced before the release of the game.

One serious issue when it comes to publishing roleplaying games is how to handle the transition between editions. Unfortunately, the reality of sales and marketing requires the announcement of a new edition before it reaches stores, meaning that there is a window of time in which the publisher has a tough time selling new titles as everyone waits for the new edition. The realities of publishing RPGs can sure suck at times, and with the Mekton Mecha Manual Volume 1 as described here we get to see how R. Talsorian tried to bridge editions and still bring in some revenue after announcing the new game.
