Milton Bradley Big Trak Electronic Vehicle for $33.97 in 1980

I’ve mentioned Milton Bradley’s Big Trak toy before (Byte magazine article, Starlog magazine appearance), and during yesterday’s visit to Rogue Toys I discovered — and bought! — the Big Trak and the accessory. Yay!!!

And since my brain works the way that it does I had to set off in search of old ads featuring the Big Trak toy . . . and that soon led me to this 1980 Ben Franklin newspaper ad in which we find the Big Trak for $33.97 and the Big Trak Transport for $12.97. A check for inflation shows that comes to a total of $136.15 in today’s dollars. Damn! The Big Trak was a pricey toy back when it was new.
