ModiBot Toys on Shapeways
One thing that digging deeper into G.I. Joe: Sigma 6 (Amazon.com search*) has done is lead me to researching the team behind the line . . . and that led me to the ModiBot toys at Shapeways.
Interlocking parts that you order in colors and plastics of your choice to construct your own toys. It’s along the same lines as the Glyos System (Onell Design), Stikfas, Bionicle, and Xevoz . . . and it is sure to appeal to all of the DIY fans and customizers out there. Take a look!

I have a bunch of the Stikfas, they were awesome! I think the last one I was able to find was the spaceman. These look great too–that medieval one reminds of the skeleton warriors from Jason and the Argonauts.
Ugh, I just sold all of my Xevoz figures in November, and you show me this now!?
Nah, that’s alright. I still have quite a few Stikfas, and Xevoz were tons of fun, but they sat in their box for 2 years without being touched so I made a rule to sell stuff like that (Sigma 6 did not apply to that rule, because they are G.I. Joe; and I told my wife I will not be getting rid of my TMNT, MOTU, or G.I. Joe related toys).
These look really neat, and I hope they’re selling well. I’m just surprised this is the first I’ve heard of them.
@Jay – I never got too heavily into Stikfas, but Gina did (and several of the staff at the office did) so I had a lot of opportunities to play with them. Cool designs, but really more modular and buildable than I was into at the time.
@clark – Sorry. There must be something weird in the air with my timing. I’d promise to not show you stuff again, but then what would I do for fun in my free time?
