More Iron Island Jack-5 to Keep Us Entertained While we Wait
As I mentioned last month (posted here) I lost all sense of control and pre-ordered the Iron Island: Jack-5 12-inch scale action figure. I ordered mine from Cotswold Collectibles and am now simply waiting for the creator, COO Model (website), to start shipping the toy so that I can get it into my hands.
I’m not 100% sure of what to expect when the toy arrives, but with any luck it will be as durable as all of the photos are amazing. The thread at One Sixth Warriors compares the design to Ashley Wood’s World War Robot series* — which strikes me as a fair comparison — but I don’t think I would call this a copy of any specific WWR design. No, this feels like a toy that was inspired by WWR but is bringing its own design ideas to the party.
Please, please, please let this toy be tough and fun. It’s going to be a crime if the figure arrives and isn’t as incredible as it looks. This — as well as the Killer Instinct: Sam (last mentioned here) — both have me excited about the idea of photographing them in the wild. Something about the two toy designs just beg to be arranged and photographed outside of the light tent.
