NECA’s Classic Planet of the Apes Action Figures
No Charlton Heston in sight, but NECA has shared Dr. Zaius, Cornelius and a Gorilla Soldier on the NECA blog, meaning that fans of the classic Planet of the Apes series are about to get some new toys for their collections.
It feels wrong not to have Heston’s Taylor as part of the line announcement, but with NYTF just a few weeks away I’m holding out hope that before this first wave is released in July we’ll have a Charlton Heston action figure confirmed for the line. Until then, though, check the NECA blog for more pics of these first three figures.

I really can’t see just how far they’ll go with this series. This 1st wave is all essential. The next wave should have Taylor, Zira, & Ursus. I don’t really expect a Nova (single-pack anyway). I think the other astronauts are a stretch too. I think a jump-suit Caesar would rock. Maybe mutants?

I wonder if they’ll get to do a Taylor, though. Likeness rights aren’t cheap, and quite frankly I’d much rather get a Ripley in the Alien line before a Taylor…
You all are assuming Heston will give up his rights. Many actors don’t. Or if they do, it’s not cheap. And with the later movies and mutants, I could think of at least 5 waves. We also have astronaut apes and the toon versions.
