New Releases at Cotswold Collectibles

12-inch action figure online shop Cotswold Collectibles is now taking pre-orders for two action figures I recently mentioned here at battlegrip.com. First up is the CIA Special Activities Division Nights Ops action figure (mentioned here) priced at $105 and scheduled for March delivery. I love the mask on this guy.

“If you’re a modern collector who has a affinity for Night or “Black” Ops, then the past couple of weeks have been in your favor. First, there was ACE Workshops Special Forces Night Ops set, then there was TTL’s CIA Quick Reaction Force. Now comes Soldier Story’s CIA SAD Night Ops set. If you remember, Soldier Story released a similar set a few years ago, but the title was about the only thing that bound them together. This new set comes with an all new black assault vest, that carries everything under the sun (or in this case, moon), including large size cable/wire cutters. His outfit consists of a black hooded parka and Crye Precision style pants with built in kneepads. Also, this guy decided to carry a ton or weaponry – two Beretta pistols, one tactical shotgun, and one tactical G-36 Assault Rifle with EOTech Sights and silencer. Well done, Soldier Story!”

The second figure is Playhouse’s GSG-9, the “almost Jack Bauer” action figure (mentioned here) that I spotted while I was in Hong Kong. And this guy looked good enough in person that I grabbed one . . . expect a review soon, since I’m anxious to play with him. I paid about $78, which is a great price since he’s $95 here and other sites are listing him at anywhere from $95 to $120.

“Saturday Toys is back in the action with their GSG-9 (Low Profile Version) figure set. For those not in the know, the GSG-9 is Germany’s elite Counter-Terrorism Unit within the German Federal Police. They’re kinda like SWAT on steroids. Dragon Models and others have recreated 1:6 scale renditions of the GSG-9 in full tactical gear, but Saturday Toys is the first (that I know of) that have attempted it in a civilian style or “low profile” version. He wears black boots, bluejeans, black shirt, and black tactical-style jacket. For protection, he wears black soft body armor, and he can conceal his identity with a balaclava. He is armed with a H&K MP-7 Sub-Machine Gun (with drop down holster) as well as a hip slung Sig Sauer P226 pistol. Slung over his shoulder is a black Maxpedition style backpack. of note is the headsculpt, which is based on the Jack Bauer character from Fox’s hit series “24”.”

Cotswold Collectibles lists several other new releases, but these were the two that really captured my attention. I’ve never ordered from these guys, but the selection at their website makes me think that it’s only a matter of time before I order something from them.
