Olmec’s “Bronze Bombers” in 1988

Inspired by a series of posts at joeaday.com, I set off in search of articles about the Olmec Bronze Bombers action figures. Almost instantly, I located this 1988 Black Enterprize magazine story where we get a peek at the Bronze Bombers toys of that year. Designed for use with Hasbro’s G.I. Joe action figures of the time, it feels to me as if Olmec was about three or four years too late to capture the height of G.I. Joe in the eighties.

  1. There used to be a lot of articles online about the sad demise of Olmec Toys. I can’t find them anymore, though. But, IIRC, the owner was on the run from the feds for a while.
