“Out-of-this-World Toys at Fabulous Prices”
If you’re not familiar with the Topper Motorized Monster Maker playset of the sixties, then don’t worry because you’re not alone. I only learned of this set a few weeks ago, and it was complete and random chance that I stumbled into this 1969 newspaper ad that shows off the Topper set so perfectly. The packaging goes out of its way to grab you, but it has to be that sales text that does the job of grabbing my attention:
“It’s fun-tastic! You create — and he’ll twist, turn, walk! Complete with heating unit, safety handles, space mold, motorized body & key, 2 umotorized bodies. Superplastic.”
What in the hell is superplastic? You know what? I don’t care what superplastic even is. I just want it!
