Paolo Bacigalupi’s “Zombie Baseball Beatdown”

I’ve mentioned author Paolo Bacigalupi’s work before (once, twice, and many times more) and now Bacigalupi has a fun new book that’s a bit outside of his earlier works.

Zombie Baseball Beatdown* is a YA novel about three kids fighting zombies. I started reading last night and can report that the book is a dramatic change from Bacigalupi’s other works . . . but it’s still strong, fast-paced, and I’m having a good time reading. If you’ve never read Bacigalupi’s work I still suggest starting with his short story collection — Pump Six and Other Stories* — but this new book’s also worth checking out if you’re a fiction fan.
