Pirates of the Caribbean Action Figures
Stopped at Wal-Mart this morning on the way to the airport and got a look at the new Pirates of the Caribbean action figures. There are both 6-inch and 3.75-inch scale action figures by Jakks and I’ve gotta say that the smaller Blackbeard is tempting.
The 6-inch figures include a “build-a-figure” but it is seriously lame; I’m not sure if you can make it out in the pics but the build-a-figure is not really all that big. It took me a few moments to realize that they hadn’t forgotten to pack in the parts . . . the parts are just smaller than I expected.
The 3.75-inch scale figures use a light trick to “reveal” the dead appearance of the characters. It doesn’t show up at all in the phone pic but it looks great in person.
Man, I may grab that Blackbeard if I see him again.
I was too busy looking for GI Joes in Walmart to really pay these toys much heed but the dead effect sounds kind of cool. I’ll have to check them again next time I’m in.
I saw this guy in walmart today while I was looking at GL Classics wave 2, and they looked cool, but were just missing a few joints that would make it worth my money. I did like the dead effect though.
