Play Imaginative 6-Inch Scale Iron Man Drone Action Figures
I posted SDCC pics of their toys a few weeks ago, and now Play Imaginative has announced that the Iron Man 2 drones are coming to us as diecast metal 6-inch scale action figures. The Fwoosh has posted the press release, so I suggest taking a close look at that for information on these upcoming toys.
They really do look incredible and I was tempted at SDCC to pre-order a few of the figures. But when 6-inch scale action figures are $100/each you find yourself stopping and thinking through the situation; do I really want to buy one of these? I only see two possible outcomes:
- Awesome! The $100 was well spent and I just love the toy. I love it so much, in fact, that I want more and . . . oops. That’s a pricey hobby.
- Junk! Complete garbage and a waste of money. Now I’m just frustrated.
And yes, I know it’s wrong that my brain doesn’t even consider a “middle of the road” outcome. I hate my brain.
When 2 of them equate to the price of a Hot Toys 1/6 Iron Man, well, I don’t think the maths side with 6 inch figures. Considering the quality of some lines in that scale, like Bandai’s Robot Damashii & SH Figuarts, and they’re only $30-$50, it would have to be something very special limited edition or not!
@bighatdino – I just assumed the price tag was because the company is small. I have no problems with supporting little startups, but these guys are advertising so many toys I know if I loved the figure I could never keep up with their line.
