Pre-Orders with Dark Regions Press

Yesterday I posted about the Dark Regions Press (website, Twitter) free book offer (mentioned here) and while at their site I started thinking about the various books I’ve got on pre-order with them. And for no good reason at all I decided that it might be fun to post the list of books here.

Visit Dark Regions Press!
  • Isis Unbound by Allyson Bird – It was the combination of alternate history, Frankenstein, and steampunk in the book description that led me to pre-order. Mummies just pushed me to pre-order as soon as I could.
  • The Engines of Sacrifice by James Chambers – Four Lovecraftian novellas in one book? Available in an edition of 100 signed and numbered limited copies? How could I resist?
  • Gathered Dust and Others by W.H. Pugmire – Over a dozen Lovecraftian stories in one book combines my enjoyment of Mythos fiction, short stories, and limited edition books all in one package. I’m looking forward to sitting down with this once it arrives.
  • The Darkly Splendid Realm by Richard Gavin – Yet another collection of short stories, this time it was the timing that led me to decide to give this a shot. And the only reason I don’t have it yet is I ordered it with Gathered Dust . . . so I wait.

And that’s it, four books pre-ordered from a single publisher . . . which means four more opportunities for fun and surprise when the books arrive. One of the things I love most about pre-orders is that you’re never completely sure when they’ll arrive and as long as it’s roughly around the promised time it’s a treat. (The pre-orders that arrives months late are a headache for another day.)
